“Every chess master was once a beginner.” – Irving Chernev
Is your child interested in learning to play, or to improve their level of play? Liam Tam, a local college freshman, will be teaching your kids the game of chess, no experience necessary.
Liam will begin with the basics, which involves board setup, gaining familiarity of the chess pieces, and the movements of each piece.
As the participants become better acquainted with the game, Liam will teach basic strategies and fundamentals for continued growth, which include openings, in-game strategy, and defensive strategies.
There will be time set aside for lunch/snacks. Please bring allergy friendly and nut-free food and snacks!
