Co-Ed Ultimate FrisbeeUltimate Frisbee is an exciting, fast-paced, non-contact, strategy-minded team sport played with a flying disc (or frisbee).  Boys and girls will learn the sport or improve their skills in one of the fastest-growing and fun sports in the world. Used as mental and physical conditioning for many other field sports, the Cohasset Ultimate Program will focus on competitive play, strategy, and skills, and will include matches with local schools; and 2 or more opportunities in the spring for multi-team tournaments throughout the South Shore. We are committed to providing gameplay in which fun, fundamentals, playing time, and Spirit of the Game are the goals for each player!

Welcome to the Cohasset Public School’s Before and After School program, operated by the Cohasset Recreation Department. Registration is required before attending the program. For the morning, register by 10:30 PM the night before. For the afternoon, register by 10:00 AM that day.For Half days, register by 10:30 p.m. the night before.The K-5 program will all be based at the Osgood Cafeteria from 7-9 AM and 3:30-6:00 PM.  Deer Hill children will be walked to and from the Osgood in the AM and PM by RISE staff. We will be following all the school department’s CoVid protocols and plan to be outside as much as possible.  Drop off and pick up procedures will involve parents not entering the school, and staff will be there for proper directions by the cafeteria door.  Free Grab and Go Breakfast will be provided for those children who are interested.  The program includes afternoon snacks. This year an online application is required before starting the registration for RISE.  Please be prepared with a downloadable photo and immunization record that will be required to finalize the online application. If you fail to register for any morning or afternoon and the office has to add it to your cart, there will be a $3.00/day office registration fee per child.  Winter Weather Advisory:  If school is delayed by an hour or two, RISE will begin an hour or two later.  One-hour delay: 8 AM start & Two-hour delay: 9 AM start.  If after-school activities are canceled or early dismissal is called due to weather, there will be no RISE after-school program.

Taking a Jazz or Ballet class is STONGLY Recommended in addition to taking this class. ContemporaryContemporary Dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres, mostly including Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Ballet. Contemporary dance allows dancers to explore their individual dance style outside of the structure of traditional Ballet and Jazz dance classes. Taking a Jazz or Ballet class is STONGLY Recommended in addition to taking this class. Classical Ballet 1This is a ballet class for intermediate & advanced levels. Students will begin at the barre, have center work, across the floor, a center combination and will learn a routine. Students will perform 1 class in the end of the year recital. With the direction of a certified instructor (Ms. Michelle Antle), dancers will focus on the following: gross motor skills, fine motor skills, body awareness, body control, social skills, strength, flexibility, focus, imitation, ideation, motor planning, memory & recall, coordination, receptive language, expressive language and much more! Pom DanceIn this class dancers will use Pom Poms while working on their dance technique. Cheerleading is not a requirement for this class. Dancers will perform 1 routine in the end of the year recital. End of the year recital is NOT mandatory. Ashtanga Yoga - General Description of the PracticeAshtanga Yoga is a challenging, vigorous and flowing style of Hatha Yoga. Ashtanga yoga asana, as taught by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, is a series of postures which coordinates every movement of the body with the breath and generates a sense of moving meditation.  Ujjayi breath (deep nasal breathing), and bandhas (internal muscle “locks” which lead to deeper energetic engagement), support the movement of the body and mind through the prescribed sequence of postures. Please note that kids will meet Kelly Grech in the Gymnasium at Deer Hill after school.  Running Club w/Kelly Grech Calling all Deer Hill Runners! Come after school on Tuesdays and get a great workout with your friends! Proper stretching technique, warm-up, drills, and plenty of games that will keep you moving and energized! Positive and inclusive atmosphere, everyone is expected to promote and support each other while learning the values of adding some running to their day. Running Club Jr. w/Kelly GrechCalling all Osgood runners. Join us after school on Wednesday for a great time getting some energy out! “Every chess master was once a beginner.” – Irving ChernevHas your child shown an interest in chess? We have the perfect solution! Liam Tam, a local high school student, will be teaching your kids the game of chess, no experience necessary.Liam will begin with the basics, which involves board setup, gaining familiarity of the chess pieces, and the movements of each piece.As the participants become better acquainted with the game, Liam will start teaching them about simple, beginner level strategies, which includes openings, in-game strategy, and defensive strategies.  Every other week there will be a tournament, where the winner will be able to choose a prize that will be offered by the Rec Department.

7:00 AM - 9:00 AM    RISE 2021-2022 - Before School
Welcome to the Cohasset Public School’s Before and After School program, operated by the Cohasset Recreation Department. Registration is required before attending the program. For the morning, register by 10:30 PM the night before. For the afternoon, register by 10:00 AM that day.For Half days, register by 10:30 p.m. the night before.The K-5 program will all be based at the Osgood Cafeteria from 7-9 AM and 3:30-6:00 PM.  Deer Hill children will be walked to and from the Osgood in the AM and PM by RISE staff. We will be following all the school department’s CoVid protocols and plan to be outside as much as possible.  Drop off and pick up procedures will involve parents not entering the school, and staff will be there for proper directions by the cafeteria door.  Free Grab and Go Breakfast will be provided for those children who are interested.  The program includes afternoon snacks. This year an online application is required before starting the registration for RISE.  Please be prepared with a downloadable photo and immunization record that will be required to finalize the online application. If you fail to register for any morning or afternoon and the office has to add it to your cart, there will be a $3.00/day office registration fee per child.  Winter Weather Advisory:  If school is delayed by an hour or two, RISE will begin an hour or two later.  One-hour delay: 8 AM start & Two-hour delay: 9 AM start.  If after-school activities are canceled or early dismissal is called due to weather, there will be no RISE after-school program.

Elizabeth was introduced to yoga following her recovery from breast cancer and found that her practice was enormously helpful in regaining a sense of balance in her life.  She retired from a career in banking and systems analysis to pursue a more holistic path.  One of her greatest joys is to help people find and restore their center of calm, peace and well being using a gentle, spiritual, and nurturing approach through her teachings of yoga.

Gentle Yoga with Elizabeth RogersThis class is appropriate for EVERYONE, regardless of experience or age!  A gentle and relaxing class, incorporating breath work, meditation, extensive stretching, yoga poses, and peace.  An opportunity to escape the daily stresses of life, to care for yourself, to come away feeling invigorated and whole again - in body, mind, and spirit.Elizabeth Rogers Elizabeth has been practicing yoga now for 18 years.  In 2003 she received her teaching certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Elizabeth was introduced to yoga following her recovery from breast cancer and found that her practice was enormously helpful in regaining a sense of balance in her life.  She retired from a career in banking and systems analysis to pursue a more holistic path.  One of her greatest joys is to help people find and restore their center of calm, peace and well being using a gentle, spiritual, and nurturing approach through her teachings of yoga.

Welcome to the Cohasset Public School’s Before and After School program, operated by the Cohasset Recreation Department. Registration is required before attending the program. For the morning, register by 10:30 PM the night before. For the afternoon, register by 10:00 AM that day.For Half days, register by 10:30 p.m. the night before.The K-5 program will all be based at the Osgood Cafeteria from 7-9 AM and 3:30-6:00 PM.  Deer Hill children will be walked to and from the Osgood in the AM and PM by RISE staff. We will be following all the school department’s CoVid protocols and plan to be outside as much as possible.  Drop off and pick up procedures will involve parents not entering the school, and staff will be there for proper directions by the cafeteria door.  Free Grab and Go Breakfast will be provided for those children who are interested.  The program includes afternoon snacks. This year an online application is required before starting the registration for RISE.  Please be prepared with a downloadable photo and immunization record that will be required to finalize the online application. If you fail to register for any morning or afternoon and the office has to add it to your cart, there will be a $3.00/day office registration fee per child.  Winter Weather Advisory:  If school is delayed by an hour or two, RISE will begin an hour or two later.  One-hour delay: 8 AM start & Two-hour delay: 9 AM start.  If after-school activities are canceled or early dismissal is called due to weather, there will be no RISE after-school program.

Ashtanga Yoga - General Description of the PracticeAshtanga Yoga is a challenging, vigorous and flowing style of Hatha Yoga. Ashtanga yoga asana, as taught by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, is a series of postures which coordinates every movement of the body with the breath and generates a sense of moving meditation.  Ujjayi breath (deep nasal breathing), and bandhas (internal muscle “locks” which lead to deeper energetic engagement), support the movement of the body and mind through the prescribed sequence of postures. The practice develops strength, flexibility and awareness of mind and body.Students learn a set order of postures beginning with Sun Salutations (Suryanamaskara A and B), followed by a sequence of standing poses, seated postures, backbends, and finishing poses. Once learned, students can practice the sequence on their own or with a group led by an instructor.Ashtanga Yoga Half Primary Series: This class includes sun salutations, standing poses, half of the seated poses, modified finishing sequence and rest.Ashtanga Yoga Foundations (Introductory): This class will begin with yin poses (meditative, seated stretching) then focus on sun salutations, including proper breath and alignment, standing poses and some seated poses. Pattabhi Jois, is a series of postures which coordinates every movement of the body with the breath and generates a sense of moving meditation.  Ujjayi breath (deep nasal breathing), and bandhas (internal muscle “locks” which lead to deeper energetic engagement), support the movement of the body and mind through the prescribed sequence of postures. The practice develops strength, flexibility and awareness of mind and body.Students learn a set order of postures beginning with Sun Salutations (Suryanamaskara A and B), followed by a sequence of standing poses, seated postures, backbends, and finishing poses. Once learned, students can practice the sequence on their own or with a group led by an instructor.Ashtanga Yoga Half Primary Series: This class includes sun salutations, standing poses, half of the seated poses, modified finishing sequence and rest.Ashtanga Yoga Foundations (Introductory): This class will begin with yin poses (meditative, seated stretching) then focus on sun salutations, including proper breath and alignment, standing poses and some seated poses. Class will conclude with a modified finishing sequence and rest.

Welcome to the Cohasset Public School’s Before and After School program, operated by the Cohasset Recreation Department. Registration is required before attending the program. For the morning, register by 10:30 PM the night before. For the afternoon, register by 10:00 AM that day.For Half days, register by 10:30 p.m. the night before.The K-5 program will all be based at the Osgood Cafeteria from 7-9 AM and 3:30-6:00 PM.  Deer Hill children will be walked to and from the Osgood in the AM and PM by RISE staff. We will be following all the school department’s CoVid protocols and plan to be outside as much as possible.  Drop off and pick up procedures will involve parents not entering the school, and staff will be there for proper directions by the cafeteria door.  Free Grab and Go Breakfast will be provided for those children who are interested.  The program includes afternoon snacks. This year an online application is required before starting the registration for RISE.  Please be prepared with a downloadable photo and immunization record that will be required to finalize the online application. If you fail to register for any morning or afternoon and the office has to add it to your cart, there will be a $3.00/day office registration fee per child.  Winter Weather Advisory:  If school is delayed by an hour or two, RISE will begin an hour or two later.  One-hour delay: 8 AM start & Two-hour delay: 9 AM start.  If after-school activities are canceled or early dismissal is called due to weather, there will be no RISE after-school program.

We will be following all the school department’s CoVid protocols and plan to be outside as much as possible.  Drop off and pick up procedures will involve parents not entering the school, and staff will be there for proper directions by the cafeteria door.  Free Grab and Go Breakfast will be provided for those children who are interested.  The program includes afternoon snacks. Ashtanga Yoga - General Description of the PracticeAshtanga Yoga is a challenging, vigorous and flowing style of Hatha Yoga. Ashtanga yoga asana, as taught by Sri. K. Gentle Yoga with Elizabeth RogersThis class is appropriate for EVERYONE, regardless of experience or age!  A gentle and relaxing class, incorporating breath work, meditation, extensive stretching, yoga poses, and peace.  An opportunity to escape the daily stresses of life, to care for yourself, to come away feeling invigorated and whole again - in body, mind, and spirit.Elizabeth Rogers Elizabeth has been practicing yoga now for 18 years.  In 2003 she received her teaching certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Elizabeth was introduced to yoga following her recovery from breast cancer and found that her practice was enormously helpful in regaining a sense of balance in her life.  She retired from a career in banking and systems analysis to pursue a more holistic path.  One of her greatest joys is to help people find and restore their center of calm, peace and well being using a gentle, spiritual, and nurturing approach through her teachings of yoga.

Co-Ed Ultimate FrisbeeUltimate Frisbee is an exciting, fast-paced, non-contact, strategy-minded team sport played with a flying disc (or frisbee).  Boys and girls will learn the sport or improve their skills in one of the fastest-growing and fun sports in the world. Used as mental and physical conditioning for many other field sports, the Cohasset Ultimate Program will focus on competitive play, strategy, and skills, and will include matches with local schools; and 2 or more opportunities in the spring for multi-team tournaments throughout the South Shore. We are committed to providing gameplay in which fun, fundamentals, playing time, and Spirit of the Game are the goals for each player!

Elizabeth was introduced to yoga following her recovery from breast cancer and found that her practice was enormously helpful in regaining a sense of balance in her life.  She retired from a career in banking and systems analysis to pursue a more holistic path.  One of her greatest joys is to help people find and restore their center of calm, peace and well being using a gentle, spiritual, and nurturing approach through her teachings of yoga.

Used as mental and physical conditioning for many other field sports, the Cohasset Ultimate Program will focus on competitive play, strategy, and skills, and will include matches with local schools; and 2 or more opportunities in the spring for multi-team tournaments throughout the South Shore. We are committed to providing gameplay in which fun, fundamentals, playing time, and Spirit of the Game are the goals for each player!

Elizabeth was introduced to yoga following her recovery from breast cancer and found that her practice was enormously helpful in regaining a sense of balance in her life.  She retired from a career in banking and systems analysis to pursue a more holistic path.  One of her greatest joys is to help people find and restore their center of calm, peace and well being using a gentle, spiritual, and nurturing approach through her teachings of yoga.
